How 'Laura La Plante: Silent Cinderella' Release Week Went
The book has been out for 8 days now. I still can't believe it is out in general!
Happy Sunday!
I hope everyone had a nice holiday weekend. At the writing of this blog, my book Laura La Plante: Silent Cinderella has been out for a week and a day!!! That is wild to me. It is hard to believe that the book is officially out into the world.
Sitting back and reflecting on the book’s release week, I feel incredible amounts of love and gratitude for the people who have shown support to the project. THANK YOU! On June 30, the book reached # 10 on the New Release list for Film books. I appreciate that sooooo much! I am so happy that people are showing Laura La Plante the love she so deserves.
Another exciting update is that on July 4, I did my first-ever podcast interview!!! Sometime next month, my episode on The Fun Ideas Podcast with Mark Arnold will air. I can’t wait for you to hear/watch the interview. He asked such wonderful and insightful questions about the research process and Laura La Plante’s life in general. Getting to talk about her with him was just so joyous. AND, as someone who listens to podcasts ALL THE TIME, I am so happy to have one featuring me so soon! Thank you, Mark!!
The following day, I got my first copy of Laura La Plante: Silent Cinderella in the mail!!! It was so exciting to hold the book and fully know that this project I had dreamed of for years was finally real—complete with paper and ink. The book is much bigger and thicker than I thought it would be, too. It is just SO beautiful. I felt like I was holding my child! I really hope I did Laura La Plante proud.
Additionally, before the week concluded, I did another interview with my publisher, BearManor Media. This interview will be released in the weeks/months to come on their official website and their weekly newsletter. If you aren’t subscribed to their newsletter, I highly recommend you do. You will see ALL of the new and incredible entertainment industry books that the company publishes. I am so grateful to be part of an organization that supports so many different facets of entertainment.
In terms of personal weekly updates, I enjoyed the Fourth of July holiday weekend by getting fresh highlights, doing some antique shopping (I found Marion Nixon in the wild as well as two 1920s fiction books), and going to Panama City Beach. It was such a great week! I hope you enjoyed it, too.
Thank you, as always, for your support!!!
Happy reading!
Love,
Laura Jerrolds
